FAQs
I'm new to Hampton Lake, how do I find out more about the HLWG?
The HLWG Welcome Committee reaches out to new residents and potential members throughout the year, providing them with information about our group and inviting them to join. We aim to ensure that every newcomer feels welcomed and informed about the benefits of HLWG membership.
We also host New & Prospective Member Socials several times a year, offering a relaxed and friendly way for women to learn more about HLWG and connect with others in the community.

What is the mission of the Hampton Lake Women's Group?
The primary purpose of the Hampton Lake Women's Group is social connection. We offer opportunities to meet new people, enjoy a variety of activities, and support one another as members of this wonderful community. Whether you’re looking to make new friends or simply enjoy time together, our group is all about creating a warm and welcoming environment for everyone.
What is the cost of annual dues, and how do I pay them?
Annual dues are $30, and the membership year runs from January 1st to December 31st. Renewal reminders are sent via email to current members each December.
New members are welcome to join at any time during the year. While we do not prorate membership dues, we offer a special waiver for those who join in October, November, or December—these new members will not need to renew until January of the following year.
When does the group meet?
The Hampton Lake Women's Group holds four General Meetings each year, typically in September, November, February, and May/June, usually in the evening. While a brief business meeting is required, we ensure there is plenty of time for socializing and connecting with fellow members.
Our General Meetings often feature a guest speaker or include a fun activity, providing an opportunity to learn something new or simply enjoy time together.
What other social activities do you sponsor?
HLWG sponsors several major social events each year and many casual meet-ups as well. Check the upcoming events page for more information.
What Interest Groups are available to me?
HLWG currently sponsors 17 different Interest Groups (IGs), offering a variety of activities and levels of participation for our members. From games and literature to crafts, performing arts, gardening, dining out, and cooking, there’s something for everyone to enjoy and explore.
Please note that membership in HLWG is required to join any of these Interest Groups. A full list of available IGs can be found here. If you have an idea for a new group that isn’t currently offered, we’d love to hear from you! Please contact us to discuss forming a new Interest Group.
Does the HLWG donate to local charities?
HLWG is proud to support local charities by organizing non-cash donation drives for various causes. We sponsor an annual Thanksgiving Food Drive and Holiday Toy Drive, both of which benefit Bluffton Self Help and are open to the entire Hampton Lake community. Through these efforts, Bluffton Self Help is able to feed hundreds of local families and bring joy to children in need during the holiday season.
In addition to these annual drives, HLWG has supported various other local charities through a number of giving campaigns in the past, and we remain committed to finding meaningful ways for our members to give back to our community.
